Searching online for property in Portugal presents a number of challenges: you’ll find multiple listings of the same property, often with conflicting information; addresses are not likely specified; images of the front of the home are frequently omitted; and it can be difficult to get a sense of the surrounding neighborhood.
On Amy’s list, you will discover curated real estate listings that have been personally vetted and their locations rated for various amenities beyond the typical “walkability”: availability of restaurants, nightlife, recreation and leisure, and practical locations like pharmacies, hardware stores, and proximity to international schools. For over twenty years, I built a successful career as a Hollywood talent agent, always putting my clients’ interests ahead of those of my agency. After selling my portion of the business, I moved to Portugal and started investing in real estate. It was through the experience of buying property that I learned that there are significant differences between what I was used to in the U.S. and what I found here in Portugal. I had to pay to learn, in time, money and sleepless nights.
Over time, I became an informal advisor to friends and acquaintances who were interested in buying property in Europe. Their positive feedback gave me the inspiration I needed to start a new chapter as a real estate advisor, focused on representing buyers only on what is a very important and emotional transaction.
